DofE gave me so many opportunities that I would never have had without it. I’ve made so many new friends through all the sections, especially expeditions & the residential section for gold. I’ve made amazing memories - singing whilst walking on expeditions, volunteering & my residential, which I was so nervous to do but was probably the best & most important experience I had whilst doing DofE! I will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in it. When I think back to myself when I started bronze & who I am now, I think DofE has impacted on that so much, it’s definitely made me a better person. What HRH Duke of Edinburgh did by creating the award was incredible & has given opportunities to so many young people. It was inspired & is one of his many important legacies.
