The award has truly shaped me into the person I am today and I will be forever grateful that the Duke of Edinburgh set it up. I have many happy, cherished memories of my time going through the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. Whilst it was challenging, the sense of accomplishment was a feeling I had never experienced and since then, I have experienced it when I completed two of the charity hikes for the award in the Peak District and the Cotswolds. The Duke of Edinburgh scheme helped me in my confidence and is something I will treasure forever. I will endeavour to help support young people into the scheme and help the scheme in whatever way I can as a leader.
