Since the beginning of my DofE journey in 2016, I achieved my Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards, and have had so many wonderful experiences. The award provided me with such a range of amazing opportunities and challenges that have helped me access my full potential in several ways: During my Gold expedition, trekking around the stunning mountains of Galloway really tested my perseverance and determination, but working together with my team brought us though the coldest winds and up the largest hills; something I can and have applied to other aspects of life – it is incredible what a strong mindset and a few songs can help you accomplish! Along with this, I developed higher levels of important skills, such as communication and efficiency, from interacting with my local community whilst volunteering.
I will forever treasure these memories and the friendships made and am grateful for the DofE programme for allowing me to prove to myself what I was capable of, both personally and as part of a team.
