For my gold expedition we chose to walk the Welsh 3000ers. The weather was Welsh, we had to rope up because of the fog, our tents flooded and we ended up the wrong side of the river to our finish point, so we completed a safe river crossing in full view of the examiners. I ended up with trench foot and a lifetime’s love of the wild places. I’ve since completed several big expeditions, and climbed all over the world, including in the Himalayas.
