Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh was an inspirational man. I have had the the privilege of speaking to him 6 times. He was amazing. From my own Gold Award Presentation in 1974, the presentations of 2 of my children at a Garden Party and visits with Gold Award recipients. He asked me about my expedition at my presentation. When I accompanied recipients I had no intention of speaking to him but did so when others in the group said nothing. At the Garden Party I was holding my son's certificate folder and he walked straight over to me saying: "That's not yours is it?". I replied by saying that it was my son's and that he had presented my certificate in 1974. He said: "Well done. Keep up the good work."

He has left a wonderful legacy to our young people. I will continue helping them with their awards as long as I am able.
