I never had the opportunity to do the DofE scheme when I was at school. However, when Tarmac launched the Gold DofE scheme I jumped at the chance to become one of the DofE Leaders to be a part of the experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed supporting the participants, encouraging them through their time on the programme, welcoming them back from their tiring expedition and also trying some of the activities myself, wishing that I was 30 years younger and could be a part of myself.

There was a lot of fun, laughter and hard work delivered during the programme and we have already seen the dividends from it with some of the participants moving on to bigger roles within the company.

A programme I would thoroughly recommend for young people to join and participate it and something that I would love to be a part of again as a Leader.
