I will always remember DofE as a challenging, exciting, character shaping adventure. I have used my experience in lots of interviews and stories, some of them funny, some of them challenging. I will never forget when we were training for the gold award in the new forest, snow, rain, wind, and realising our two tent pieces didn’t match. Let’s just say hunting for twigs to hold it together didn’t quite make the match.

I have made close friends for life doing this award, been inspired to constantly challenge myself in life and find enjoyment in the outdoors even when it’s raining.

From bronze, to silver, to gold, there is something I can remember from each adventure. There was blood, sweat and tears for sure, but getting to the end was extremely satisfying and a feeling I will never forget.
