I have many happy memories of participating in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme in the 1970. The memory of walking in Shropshire in early January 1973, with two others, will remain with me always. I enjoyed the freedom we had in enjoying the countryside and it gave me a lifetime love of walking. They were experiences I enjoyed and am glad to have had the many opportunities it gave me.
