Where to start? I have Bronze ,Silver & Gold & Countless memories.
I was a fire service cadet & won the Outstanding cadet award at the end of the 2 year course. All cadets took part in the D of E but I was the only one to attain Gold (at 18) coincidence?? I think not. I was also promoted to leading fireman at the ridiculously young age of 21, I think the D of E award was a major contributory factor.
How many get to meet royalty & get invited to Buckingham Palace? Relatively few methinks.
I wont rabbit on, as I said - sooooo many great memories. Suffice to say I will be grateful to the D of E award until my dying day.
