Whilst I found the DofE challenging at times, it helped me develop problem-solving, teamworking and resilience skills that have definitely been useful in my later life.

Participating in expeditions definitely contributed to my love of the outdoors and outdoor education. Completing the award inspired me to get into outdoor youth work myself and I have since worked in Canada as a group leader running similar expeditions and outdoor activities.
