Jo Bradshaw
It is with utter sadness that I write this. The Duke of Edinburgh created a legacy and a way of life so far reaching not only in the UK but worldwide, not only for the students taking part in the Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards but also for those such as myself, an Outdoor Instructor who teaches and assesses the expedition element all levels of the award, that it has touched so many and had such an impact on our lives. Seeing students on the first day of their Bronze training, nervous and with anticipation, grow in confidence throughout their time with the award and then throughout their lives is a gift that keeps on giving. Meeting him at the Gold Awards, the culmination of a huge effort from the students was an honour and memories I will cherish forever. What a Gentleman. RIP Sir.
