My most memorable part of doing my DofE bronze award many years ago was when I lost my kagool on the first day of the expedition. Unfortunately not long after the rain turned torrential, but my teacher had a brainwave to cut a head hole and arm holes in my bright orange bivouac.

You can imagine the laughter from the other kids, mortified is not the word and I had to wear it again the next day.
Still happy memories and proud of the achievement.
