Jane Hauton

I'm still in touch with my Gold expedition gang of girls. We were fortunate enough to attend an amazing school which encouraged students to get involved. We all learned so much... From flower arranging, police training, painting and decorating, woodwork. The expeditions were the best... Hiking over the Welsh mountains.... We still reminisce about the sore feet when we get together. I am grateful for the chance to be part of this amazing scheme. Meeting the Duke of Edinburgh in person was a truly special day. My Gold Award residential was to a holiday home for children with special needs. I'm now a teacher at a special school so my D of E experience directly influenced my career and life choices. Thank you to His Royal Highness for his vision and his ongoing support for this wonderful scheme. May you rest in perfect peace.
