I had completed my Bronze and Silver but didn't get chance to go for Gold as I was unfortunately hit by a car when I was 16, dislocating my knee and doing a lot of damage to surrounding tissue. However, during my second year of university I decided that I was going to give it a go.

I knew it was going to be tough due to the injury, but I was determined to do it. I went along to the local centre, where I met Sian and Kate, who were at the same university as me, and we became great friends. We sorted out our groups, working well as a team, and supporting each other all the way, as we all had our own health issues.

It was, however, on the final expedition around Snowdonia that we all really pushed each other through. Kate was struggling with a damaged ankle, and myself and Sian took some of her kit from her to lighten the load. At the begining of day 2, I fell over a rock and damaged my already weakend knee. Sian was also struggling with her asthma. However, all three of us determined, we supported each other throughout the rest of the expedition and completed the four days by walking all togther into the sea at the end.

I wouldnt have been able to complete it without them, and they said the same without me. That detmination and Team Work has always been what has got me through most things - remembering that if, against the odds, I could get through my expedition with the right team beside me, then I can get through most things.
