After completing my Bronze DofE I went onto my silver, the reason I continued and hope to finish with the gold is because the team I was with were inspirational, we are a team of friends from school and the friendship has been made stronger by working together to achieve each stage of the DofE, friends for life. Even though we have all gone in different directions (6th form, College, apprenticeship etc) we still have this one aim and that is to finish the DofE. It gave us communication skills, to work together as a team, to look out for one another. Even on the wettest of days and nights we kept our spirits up by singing and dancing our way along the miles. We helped each other by encouragement and laughter. Let’s hope the DofE continues to inspire and help other people, the volunteering section also enables people to have a go at something they didn’t think they could.
