Before taking part in the DofE I was scared of bugs, never saw myself camping and avoided long walks at all costs. Initially I took part because I saw it as an opportunity to have a fun weekend away with my friends but it turned out to be the best opportunity that I took on.

I enjoyed every minute of the experience, got to know some people who I had gone to school with for 3 years but never had the opportunity to hang out with before - we even became very good friends, and found out that I love hiking, camping and I can now even play the piano.

I am so glad I got to achieve the silver award and unfortunately due to personal circumstances I was not able to finish gold, but really hope to do it soon!
