I did all three Duke of Edinburgh's awards when I was around 14-18, you don't realise at the time but you are working out who you are at that age. The DofE provided me confidence and courage that with work I can put my mind (and body) to anything, as well as the lessons of failure. The experience's continue to provide me great memories and I am absolutely sure it shaped who I am today. Not sure I have photos as digital cameras were in their infancy then but I will try and find something. We certainly didn't have mobile phones. I still cherish the areas I did my DofE in and if I even try and carry a tent up a small hill these days I look back in wonder at 16 year old me.
