As a young adult growing up in a world that is massively influenced by social media and technology, I found the DofE programme inspired me to breach my comfort zone and make the most of the opportunities in my life.

The image I have attached is from the end of our gold expedition and is one of my most treasured pictures - it reminds me of what can be achieved when a group of people come together despite not knowing one another for a long period of time. I believe this echos the national spirit in a time of need - such as this pandemic.

My gold award taught me so many valuable life lessons, skills, and passions that I will be forever grateful for. Although I could list these all day, I only hope that the legacy of HRH Prince Phillip allows this programme to not only continue but to flourish for the next generation of explorers!
