Our Gold DofE group was made up of people from pretty disparate friend groups, so the expedition really widened my social perspective, taking me out of that clique-dominated high school mentality and helping me, well, grow up :)

Exploring the Scottish highlands is something I would have been hesitant to do alone- although stunning, the lochs and mountains do blend after a while, so losing your way can be all too easy. But the sense of self-assuredness gained from successfully navigating that landscape is incomparable
