My DoE experience I will always hold with fond memories. I enjoyed the excitement of travelling over for the expedition with my friends in my Girl Guide group. The lesson it taught me are invaluable particularly determination and perseverance knowing I was able to complete the expedition. The Dukes legacy will live on through the award scheme and I will always encourage young people to take part. In the future if I have children would love to see them take part and reminisce of my memories of the scheme and the incredible man the duke was.
