I was fortunate to be able to achieve my bronze, silver and gold d of e awards due to dedicated staff and parents at my school who made it possible. The genius brainchild of his royal Highness, prince Philip, for which I will be forever grateful.

I will never forget putting my rucksack on for the first time for my first bronze expedition....it weighed so much! We had so much fun though, and learned to work together as a team, so we could work out the route, pitch the tents, cook our food and keep morale high together.

Papa westray, where we carried out our gold award final expedition, will always have a special place in my heart. A wonderful, tiny island in the Orkney Islands where we studied bird life. The experience of a lifetime.
