Having completed Bronze, Silver and Gold I have a lot of memories, especially from my expeditions. However, there are stand out moments from each:
Bronze - Getting to the top of a steep hill to realise one of my team had dropped part of the tent somewhere and having to traipse back down the hill and across fields to find it...
Silver - Having the Peak District to ourselves on a May bank holiday weekend due to the torrential rain, hail and even snow at one point! All the paths were basically rivers and we had to replan our route several times. I don't think any of us had a single dry thing by the end of it - everything was certainly well waterproofed on future expeditions!
Gold - After being in a lot of pain during my practice due to a swollen knee (and blisters under my toenails!), I was dreading my assessed expedition. But, I made a few changes to my footwear and clothing - including treating myself to some fancy new knee supports - and felt like I was flying through my final expedition. By the end, I think I was almost running to the finish point with a smile on my face. I even went out on another hike the next day!

Overall I have had some amazing experiences through the DofE scheme and I'm really looking forward to being able to attend my award ceremony. I would truly like to thank Prince Philip for creating the award and I hope that the royal family and DofE can continue the scheme for many more generations of young people to come.
