As a teenager I was a sea scout and really enjoyed working my way through the DofE awards to Gold. I found it a fun but challenging program. I have just retired having served the NHS as a orthopaedic surgeon for the last 35 years. Both children have also been challenged and enthused in life by completing their gold awards one is a Dr and the other has a PhD. Thank you HRH your award scheme has inspired millions to fulfill their potential.
