My lasting memories of especially my Gold award are quite varied! but here goes! Firstly my work in the community, I managed to work as a classroom assistant at a school for children with disabilities! I spent over a year at this school, volunteering because I was overwhelmed by the kid's determination to get through life! After my first day, I remember sitting in my car and shedding a tear at how fortunate I was, and lastly, I remember bits from my expedition in North Yorkshire! I remember battling all four seasons in one day! from driving snow and rain to bathing in bright sunshine!! I also remember the song that was randomly being sung by the four members of the team - Love is in the air by John Paul Young! Even to this day, when I hear that song, it reminds me of my DofE expedition! and that is something I'm immensely proud of.
