One of my fondest memories of doing my DOFE Silver, was on the last day of our expedition. It turned out that we had camped on a small hill, not enough to notice but turns out our tent leaked and I was in a pool of water when I woke up. I turned round to my tent mate and said im flooded here, and he responded that he was perfectly dry! I have many other great memories of that expedition and as someone from inner city Birmingham, that was an amazing experience. I have taken the skills of leadership, teamwork and determination I learnt into University with me, where im doing a Natural Science degree. This involves many field work, expeditions and camping. Its safe to say DOFE helped me prepare. I was quite sad to learn of the death of HRH, and hope he died knowing the difference he made to so many, including me.
