DofE introduced me to the backpack which led to many great adventures travelling the world. While I never did the paperwork to get the awards, I have three sons that have the Gold award, the eldest of which is currently introducing it to a school in China. It’s too easy to underestimate the importance of the scheme. It is a wonderful legacy for the Duke and I’m so grateful that I was introduced to it at school.
