I started Bronze Duke of Edinburgh during 2017 and I recently passed Gold at the end of 2020. I can honestly say that I have learnt so much and have grown immensely especially in confidence during this journey. I've created memories I will cherish for the rest of my life and met the most amazing people especially during Gold where you are encouraged to be more independent. I started my Gold residential and expeditions with complete strangers and walked away with fantastic new friends. I cannot thank Prince Philip enough for creating such an amazing awards scheme, what a legend! May he rest in peace. His legacy will live on through the award, so to anyone who is ever considering taking part in Duke of Edinburgh I would say don't hesitate it'll be the best decision you ever make!
