Erfan Nouraee
I am Erfan Nouraee, a 20-year-old inventor and Duke of Edinburgh Award Holder. I have a passion to invent devices that can protect and conserve our environment from threats.
The Award has been a unique and memorable experience for me, enabling me to regularly become active in the community and engage with others around me. Since I began the Award, I've never felt more a part of my community. I volunteered in our electoral district to engage with community residents for my service component. To check-in with them, listen to their concerns, and get important feedback during the difficult times and challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Adventurous Journey was an amazing experience, and I learned a lot about working as a team and planning. It helped me to analyze situations, overcome challenges and underline them as a team. It was amazing to work with a supportive group and leader that made me feel supported and prepared during the journey. We held sessions and meetings to discuss, plan and organize the necessary activities, learn from each other and give feedback on how to better prepare, communicate and structure our team to complete the journey collaboratively.
I am so grateful for my Duke of Edinburgh’s Award journey. The Award means so much to me. It has given me a strong platform to advocate change and inspire other young people to become World Ready and invent their own solutions.
