I started the award scheme when I was 14 years old. During the years that followed I found myself in a wheel chair and learning to walk again. Shortly after, I completed my gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. I'll always remember it as the award the marked the end of a really hard few years. Everyone thinking of getting involved with DOE should!
