My DofE story started when I was 16 and completed my Bronze DofE. I was completely hooked and felt such a huge sense of achievement from completing the award. From there I went on to complete and my Silver and Gold DofE. Through my Gold DofE residential trip, I found a new love for kayaking and outdoor sports, which has led to me becoming a paddlesport instructor where I now help teach kids in my youth organisation how to paddle.
I completed my Gold DofE at the age of 18 and in the same year decided I wanted to help give back and become a DofE leader. By the age of 19 I had completed my lowland expedition award which I now use to help make sure I can keep running DofE awards and provide the same opportunities that I was given.
DofE has been an integral part of my life and will continue to be for the rest of my life.
