I have done my bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and was lucky enough to meet the Duke of Edinburgh twice. I met him first when I went to Holyrood House where I went to receive my award. I later worked as a Duke of Edinburgh Award Leader with the local council and met the head person based at Edinburgh and was invited to his last awards ceremony at Holyrood House where I met Prince Phillip's again and was speaking to him when he spoke to the parents of the people that had just received their awards and asked if any of us had done their awards. I had said that I had done my gold award, when he was quick to reply that I wasn't a parent as he could see from my age and the age of the people getting their awards. I have also met his son Edward at another Duke of Edinburgh award event.
