My bronze DofE expedition took place in the heart of Snowdonia's hilly and mountainous landscape, with lakes and rivers winding around the valleys. All of which I'm sure would have looked spectacular if it hadn't been covered by a blanket of dark clouds and rain. My expedition was one that one might call 'a classic DofE'. Throughout the whole of the two days it rained (horizontally part of the time, because of the wind), it was cold and muddy, me and my friend's tent flooded at three in the morning, and we almost fell in a flooded river. As awful as this may seem, it was a true bonding experience with all the people on the expedition, teaching many essential skills such as team working, team-leading and keeping optimistic even in the ugliest of weathers. I couldn't have done it without the team.
Oh and the '5 star cuisine' which surprisingly didn't consist of instant noodles. Shout out to the broccoli and cheese (you may have taken a questionable amount of room in my ill-fitting backpack, but it was definitely worth it).
