Duncan Bolling

I remember waking up one morning, fresh out of my tent on day number 3 of my expedition. I woke to the fresh air of the countryside with determination in my bones, in the knowledge that I was making a difference to myself. I wake up and jump out my tent, overlooking the bliss that is in front of me, the fresh water running beside me and there's a horse, a rather young looking horse just standing there. I go over to this horse and pet it, the rest of my team still asleep as I had arose early this morning, the horse calls to me and a cuddle it before it runs off. I felt alive and free in this moment, I felt like I knew that this was where I was supposed to be.

I wouldn't have gotten through my school years without the Duke Of Edinburgh Awards, I am so grateful and honoured to have had the chance to complete my awards. My life has truly been changed, I've met so many wonderful people and seen so many amazing places.
I am stronger and much more independent thanks to the awards, along with my knowledge of how important this world is and how amazing it is to be in the moment and live with the world.

When hearing the news of The Duke of Edinburghs Passing, I broke into tears, as of how much this truly meant to me.
Thank you Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, sleep well.
