My mum and me at The Palace after receiving my Gold Award Certificate and badge from HRH Prince Philip in October 1982. The experience of doing the DofE award has meant I got to go to places and do challenges I would not normally have done. I also made friends from home and in Germany, of which I am still in contact with today; including my best friend who lives in SG who through our following of MPFC, got us together and are still there over forty years later!

The DofE award scheme has helped to make my life the way it is. Anyone reading this knows how the focal points of this knows how it can shape your life!
