Working my my through from Bronze to the Gold Awards gave me a broader experience of life than I would otherwise had gathered. The legacy has been an attitude of being willing to try new experiences which has served me well and left some fantastic memories.

Connections and contacts made through my participation in the award, and later as an award leader, led to my spending a month on an expedition in Iceland and ascending twice to the summit of Mont Blanc.

Besides meeting the Duke at St. James Palace my greatest memory of the scheme comes from the residential project for the Gold spent sailing on the west coast of Scotland where we had everything from flat clam to gale force winds in a week.
