In 1968 I was a boy scout and had the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award and successfully gained a bronze award, I remember how much I enjoy the away from home experience, so much so that seven months later at 15 1/2 I left home again and joined the Royal Navy, where I served until 1993. I had an amazing career finding Scotland and meeting my lovely wife, Marion. We live here in Scotland with our family, and spend as much time as we can supporting veterans who didn't have such a good service career as me.
