I found the DofE when I was 14 years old - or rather the DofE found me and I went on to complete bronze, silver and gold.
the DofE gave me the courage and the confidence to reach out beyond my wildest expectations and I went on to complete my BSc. MBA and PhD and to have an exciting career in engineering and so it was a very proud moment when the duke of Edinburgh presented me with my Fellowship of the royal Academy of Engineering.

It is fair to say that the Duke of Edinburgh has had a profound and positive impact on my life
