I was 14 years old, my dad was in the army, and I was at a military school in Germany. In was Prince Rupert School, Rinteln. I could not make friends, and always getting bullied. So I joined D of E Award. I loved it. Learning something new every weekend, from first aid, learning the right way of putting on a bandage to pitching a tent in the rain. I loved every minute and then went and joined The Army Cadet Force as a instructor and then went on to be D of E teacher.
