My most poignant memory of DofE was the Gold DofE expedition being in a white out and walking miles. We failed due to excessive road miles but the mountain rescue were complementary and this gave us confidence to believe we did the right thing. We returned a year later and succeeded. Then visiting St James palace with my mom, she was so proud.
