Christine Pratt

I took part in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme in the 1970s starting with my bronze award and working up to gold, unfortunately boys got in the way and I failed to write up my gold expedition so therefore did not achieve that award, I've regretted this ever since.
From the bronze to gold award I learned many skills including archery and fencing, I volunteered preparing and delivering meals on wheels to elderly people but my most memorable activities were the walks and final expedition which was fro Staithes to Scarborough.
My love of walking and the outdoors has continued throughout my life and I am now a Forest School Leader in a primary school.
I have very fond memories of partaking in the award scheme. Unfortunately there are no photographs as photography wasn't as easily accessible as it is now.
