Completing Gold DofE will always be one of my biggest achievements. The pride felt when we finished the walk and the pride felt when I was invited to Buckingham Palace is something I will never forget. The award taught me the importance of teamwork, communication and organisation, skills that I will undoubtedly take into my career. Whilst I may have grown apart from some members of my group, the experiences we shared will always be something I look back on with fondness. Every aspect has broadened my opportunities, with volunteering through Girlguiding meaning that I am now able to complete my Queens Award, hopefully another trip to Buckingham Palace will be coming soon! Whilst I probably wouldn’t have said this at the time when we were lost, soaked and tired, I am forever grateful for the memories and experiences I have had as a result of the DofE award and will always remember them and be proud of everyone who takes part in any format.
