During my DofE journey my best memory I had was getting my silver award. I only managed to achieve this and my bronze because of the staff I had and because of my learning difficulties and underlying health condition which prevents me from walking too far I was discouraged from doing this but I achieved both despite what consultants had said and various other people putting me down because they thought I wasn’t capable of achieving something. This is proof to myself and those who discouraged me that I am capable of something just because I’m medically labelled doesn’t mean I can’t do other things like everyone else.
