My main memories of supervising DofE expeditions are standing in fields waiting for groups to appear over the horizon. Always afraid that they'd get lost, yet trusting that they have prepared well, I never fail to shed a tear when I see them materialize in the distance.

I'm always so proud of the young people when they get their awards. It's such an achievement that stays with them forever.
