Great memories of a long hike and camping out for DofE bronze as a young teenager (many of us followed onto Silver following this and then some onto Gold too), doing community service and learning new skills. This moment captured in the photograph shows us all in the midst of putting up tents, cooking our own supper on a camp fire, triumphant after a day’s hike carrying all we needed for survival on our backs (as well as chocolate bars for much needed calories!), ready to do the second hike the next day.
