Completing my Bronze award at high school was the starting point for me to work on my confidence, complete tasks along side new people who became friends and to learn skills for life. A few years later whilst at uni, completing my Gold award at the top of Snowdon on my birthday was definitely a memorable day! Being awarded at Buckingham Palace was one of the best days of my life, truly magical. I have many fond memories from taking part and I do very often reminisce about them. Extremely grateful that the DofE award was set up and I am sure it will continue in the magnificent way it has been. I have followed my goal of joining the RAF and I know thst without the DofE available to me I wouldn't have gained the valuable skills that have helped me to achieve this goal.
