Anna Patrick
I achieved my Gold Award in 1989 having taken part in it through the Scouting group I was a member of.
I often think back to this time and the challenges I faced as a 17/18 year old - learning a new skill, Ballroom Dancing - Volunteering as a Cub Scout Group helper - my residential at a Care Home, sleeping in the bacement and helping to look after the residents - and the expedition, the preparation, the practice walks, the planning, the endurance, the teamwork and the blisters!
I am still proud to this day I achieved this and will never forget that day with my Dad in 1989 meeting HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
Thank you Prince Philip and may you Rest in Peace ️
