For several years I have been a DofE volunteer at my son’s school, rekindling an association with the award that started in my teenage years. I learned resilience and outdoor skills that I have used through 35 years military service. Now, my son embarked on the Gold I am helping today’s crop open their potential. The DofE scheme is a fitting tribute and legacy to a remarkable servant of this country and the Commonwealth.
