I took my silver DofE in around 1980 at school and I was tasked with making the tea when we were on one of our weekend expeditions. I thought I was being helpful but accidentally put dried potato powder (Smash) in the tea rather than milk powder. As you can imagine I wasn’t popular but it created a lasting memory.
