My DOFE story began in October 2005 when I went on a Bronze expedition with a group of 14 year-olds. Since then, I have been on a number of expeditions and I have observed students improve on a skill or in a more recent case, even become excellent public speakers. I have seen teenagers embark on a quest to become better athletes and I have watched as they contributed to the community. I have enjoyed every single expedition.
It has been a privilege to observe such holistic growth for 16 years now and long may this privilege continue! Thanks to HRH, Prince Philip, may this legacy of self-improvement continue to prosper so that the legacy of a leader lives on for eons after his lifetime.
Upon hearing of his passing, I wrote a poem which my current intake of Bronze participants had the pleasure of reciting.
