My name Alison and I was at Buckingham Palace about four years ago getting my gold Duke of Edinburgh ward. And even though we me HRH Prince Edward. We were one of the last groups to see HRH Prince Phillip.

I did my Duke of Edinburgh award through girl guiding and we did an expedition in the Yorkshire Dales and found it to be a very exciting and reward challenge. Especially when walking our way up Malham Cove. The views were absolutely stunning and the feeling of achieving something special was very rewarding.

The Duke of Edinburgh award was and will always remain an important part of my life.

My dad got his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award when he was younger through the Air Cadets. And my dad met and spoke to Prince Phillip at Buckingham Palace years ago.
